9/11 Remembrance Memorials & Ceremonies

Patriot Day is an annual observance on September 11 to remember those who were injured or died during the terrorist attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001. Many Americans refer Patriot Day as 9/11 or September 11.

Local communities are hosting several 9/11 memorials and ceremonies.

Martinez had a flag raising ceremony this am in honor of 9/11 which was lead by Martinez Police Honor Guard.

In Clayton at Clayton Fire Station #11, a memorial has been set up for firefighters and law enforcement officers who lost their life on 9/11. The memorial is located at 6500 Center St, Clayton.

Concord’s flags will be lowered to half-staff at 6:30pm in remembrance of Patriot Day and commemorating the tragic events of 9/11.

Concord’s Music and Market in Todos Santos Plaza will be featuring the Lafayette Studio Big Band, a seventeen piece Count Basie style jazz orchestra, performs featuring guest vocalist Petty Officer First Class Steven Powell in a 9/11 salute.

Also, don’t forget to visit Memory Gardens. Tucked into a quiet and secluded location, Memory Gardens Cemetery offers visitors pleasant pathways that meander through the park, with views of a touching memorial to commemorate 9/11 and a unique timecapsule that contains treasured mementos of local community residents.

May we never forget 9/11 and always question the truth of the matter.
