Tomorrow Clayton CERT will be offering a FREE disaster training class! This 2 hour seminar, presented by CERT Instructors to give you insight into what items you should keep on hand in case of a disaster in our area. In addition there will be CPR and AED training offered at this event free of charge. The course will be held tomorrow, Wed Mar 13, 2013 at 7pm – 9pm at the Clayton Library. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can help others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not available to help.

To become a CERT member, you must complete a FREE 20 hour CERT Basic Training course and take part in at least one exercise per year. Continuing Education opportunities are available for free to all CERT members. CERT is a great opportunities for those that want to help during a disaster.
