Tomorrow May 18, 2013 is Armed Forces Day!

According to Wikipedia, Armed Forces Day was “first observed on 20 May 1950, the day was created on 31 August 1949, to honor Americans serving in the five U.S. military branches – the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard“.

To all the mothers of the world, we love and thank you for all you do.  Everyday should be mothers day because without them we wouldn’t be here. I hope all of our amazing mother have an amazing day. On a personal note, I wanted to thank my mom for all the love, support and encouragement that she’s given me over the years. Mom, I want to thank you for always being there and for being strong especially when I’m not. Thank you for doing it alone and teaching me to never stop and never give up no matter what cards your dealt. Mom you are truly an inspiration and Grandma was right…. You are my best friend. I love you!

Beatles Tribute Band The Sun Kings – Free Grove Concert

The City of Clayton is offering Concerts in The Grove! Free Admission! Saturday, May 11th, 2013 The Sun Kings one of the premier Beatles tribute groups will be featuring hit tunes from the 150 songs spanning the entire Beatles epoch.  This professional band will take you back to memory lane, urging you to sing along and dance to the music we all love. Check out this cool sample of The Sun Kings!





Come to this great community event and join your neighbors for a remarkable night! Chairs and blankets may be set out after 4pm on concert days. Come early to get awesome seating. Bring a picnic dinner, drinks, ice chest and enjoy a fabulous night on the lawn. The city is requesting no glassware, BBQs, or “silly-string.” Walking to the park is recommended since parking is limited. Help keep our park clean & safe by cleaning up after the concert! Donations may also be sent to Concerts in The Grove, c/o City of Clayton, 6000 Heritage Trail, Clayton, CA 94517.

If I  had kids I would totally sign them up for these free clinics!  Lowes offers free clinics for kids where they can learn to build things with their own hands.  The next upcoming clinic is May 11, 2013.  Spots do fill up very fast so register as quick as you can.  All supplies are given free of cost.  All you need to do is show up and get ready to build!

This FREE hands-on workshop is designed for children ages 5 – 12 years old and is offered by Lowes on May 11th at 10 a.m. All kids get to keep their wooden craft and receive a FREE Kids Workshop Apron, goggles, and commemorative patch.
