A&W Offers Free Root Beer Floats Tomorrow!

FREE FLOATS FOR ALL!

August 6th is National Root Beer Float Day, the one day every year where A&W is happy to share their signature treat completely on-the-house. Come visit an A&W location between 2 p.m. and closing time on Saturday will receive one small root beer float free of charge upon request. No purchase necessary. Cheers!

In addition to the root beer floats, guests are also encouraged to support veterans by donating to the Wounded Warrior Project. Last year, A&W patrons donated more than $200,000 to the organization.

National Night Out Event Tonight – Pleasant Hill

Pleasant Hill CERT will once again be at National Night Out on the lawn of City Hall on Tuesday, August 2nd from 6 to 8pm. Admission is free.

The Pleasant Hill Police will provide free hot dogs and the opportunity to explore a police vehicle, fire truck and ambulance, and K-9 demonstration. Children will enjoy a bounce house and face painting, and other local community organizations will provide educational booths, snacks, desserts, and entertainment.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits.

There is a DUI checkpoint TONIGHT in Martinez! It’s happening now and will continue until 2AM. If you would like to be updated on DUI checkpoints in Contra Costa, it’s HIGHLY recommended that you joining our email list, Facebook page, twitter feed or bookmark us. As far as we know, DiabloReporter.com is the ONLY site that gives out specific times and locations of checkpoints in the County.

The location of the checkpoint is Martinez on Pacheco Blvd near the 680 off ramp. Drive safe & drink responsibly.
