The Charles M.Schulz Museum opened in August 2002 to fulfill its mission of preserving, displaying, and interpreting the art of Charles M. Schulz. The museum carries out this mission through changing exhibitions and programming that: build an understanding of cartoonists and cartoon art; illustrate the scope of Schulz’s multi-faceted career; communicate the stories, inspirations and influences of Charles Schulz; and celebrate the life of Charles Schulz and the Peanuts characters. The Charles M. Schulz Museum is located 50 minutes north of San Francisco by car on Highway 101. Open weekdays Monday, Wednesday through Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Closed Tuesday.

Admission is normally: $10 adults, $5 Seniors 62+, $5 youth & students (4-18 or with student ID), free for museum members & youth 3 and under. The Schulz Museum is located at 2301 Hardies Ln. The California Association of Federal Firearms Licensees (CAL-FFL) will give away guns for gun control bills passed in 2014.

Help Fight Hunger – Fruit Tree Owners Wanted

The Diablo Reporter has teamed up with Anna Chan, aka The Lemon Lady! Over the last four years, Anna has been on a nationwide campaign against hunger. The Lemon Lady Foundation is all volunteer and self-funded. Anna organized over 6,000 volunteer hours and personally harvested over 300 TONS of urban fruit and produce that’s delivered to local food pantries and hunger relief organizations.

Anna would like to inspire others about fruit and vegetable donations to local food pantries and she’s made simple to do so. Anna Chan & The Lemon Lady Foundation is looking for people with excess fruit on their fruit trees! Anna’s team would love to donate your excess fruit to local food banks including the Share Food Pantry on Willow Pass Rd, in Concord. We can even get help harvesting it for you!

The duties include home security surveys, pick up and deliver property/evidence, traffic complaints, handicap enforcement, parking violations, business license verification and more. Superbowl Tipsy Tow – Get a Free Ride Home

AAA’s “Tipsy Tow” initiative will be offering Superbowl partygoers a free ride home tonight in the hope of getting people home safely on one of the biggest party nights of the year.

Anyone who has celebrated the Superbowl with a little too much to drink will be able to catch a free ride with Tipsy Tow rather than risking more dangerous ways to get home.

The Tipsy Tow program is open to everyone. You do not need to be an AAA Member to take advantage of this service to the community.

AAA typically offers the service to drinking drivers from 6 p.m. on the holiday to 6 a.m. the following day in Northern California, Nevada and Utah. For specific dates and times, see the list below.

During the period Tipsy Tow is available, drivers, potential passengers, party hosts, bartenders, and restaurant managers can call 800-222-4357 (AAA-HELP) for a free tow home of up to ten miles. Just tell the AAA operator, “I need a Tipsy Tow,” and a truck will be on its way.

The service will provide a one-way ride for the driver and vehicle to the driver’s home. If there are additional passengers who need a ride, they will be taken to the driver’s home as long is there is sufficient room for them to be transported safely in the tow truck. You cannot make a reservation.

AAA provides its Tipsy Tow service for the following holidays:

Super Bowl: 6:00 p.m. Sunday– 6:00 a.m. Monday
St. Patrick’s Day: 6:00 p.m. March 17th – 6:00 a.m. March 18th
Cinco de Mayo: 6:00 p.m. May 5th – 6:00 a.m. May 6th
Independence Day: 6:00 p.m. July 4th – 6:00 a.m. July 5th
Halloween: 6:00 p.m. October 31st – 6:00 a.m. November 1st

Whatever you do, please don’t drink and drive. Take the Pledge! Join AAA’s commitment to driving only while drug and alcohol-free.

AAA offers the following tips to stay safe and keep others safe on the roads:

Drive only while drug and alcohol-free
Plan ahead and designate a non-drinking driver before a celebration begins
Don’t let your friends drive impaired. Take their keys away
Never ride in a car with someone who is impaired
Plan to take a cab or stay with a friend
