The Richmond Police Department announced Thursday it plans to conduct a DUI sobriety checkpoint on Friday night.

We will continue to make people of Contra Costa County aware of DUI Checkpoints, Smog Checkpoints, Saturation Patrols, and other travel related events. The checkpoint will run from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the intersection of Hilltop Drive and Robert H. Miller Drive in Richmond’s Hilltop neighborhood.
“The DUI checkpoint is funded through an AVOID grant secured by the Contra Costa County Sherriff’s Office,” police said. “Volunteers from the Bay Area chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving will be on location with police patrol units.”
