Free Movies at the Local Drive-In – Fast & Furious 6

West Wind Theaters (off Solano Drive in Concord) is hosting their FREE ADMISSION night on Thursday, September 26, 2013. The featured movies are Despicable Me 2, Fast & Furious 6 and Grown Ups 2. Other activities include a live band, games and well stocked concession stands. Gates open at 6:00pm and the first movie starts at 8:00pm. Pack the picnic basket, grab an ice chest and enjoy a fun night out. Visit the West Wind Theaters for more information.

The Lowe’s Kids Clinic is a FREE event and is offered at all Lowe’s Home Improvement stores on September 14 at 10 AM. Registration is required. Kids get to keep their craft and will also receive a FREE workshop apron, goggles, patch and more.

Get Ready, Get Steady – Chop! Free Cooking Class

Join us and sharpen your knife skills so you can slice, dice and chop like a pro. We’ll demonstrate how to sharpen your knives at home and will offer complimentary knife sharpening at this class. (Limit one knife per customer, please; $5 per knife for additional ones.)

This class will be held Sunday September 15, 2013 at 10am. The hour-long technique classes are free and include tastings of prepared dishes. The class will be held at 10:00am and class size is limited. Participants can also enjoy 10% savings on select same-day store purchases.

Learn tips and tricks from the experts! Navlet’s gardening classes are free, and each covers a timely topic in the garden. So learn from the pros, meet new friends, and have some fun. Classes are held at one of Navlet’s four East Bay garden centers, located in Concord, Danville, Martinez, and Pleasant Hill. Class size is limited, however, so it’s best to call ahead and reserve your space.

Whether in the ground or in containers, we’ll show you how to grow these wonderful plants successfully.

Free Kids Workshop – Build a Classic Fire Truck

Register today for the FREE Lowe’s Build & Grow Kids Clinic on Saturday, September 14 at 10:00 am. Kids will enjoy building a Classic Fire Truck. Kids will get a free apron, project patch and project kit. Each Kids Clinic only has between 50 and 100 spots and they fill up fast! If your location is full, you can still attend because they let people fill the open spots (from people who don’t show up) 15 minutes after they start.

Recommended ages are 5 to 12 but you can bring younger children as long as you can provide them the help and supervision they need.
