Free Food Offer: Score a Free Burrito From Chipotle

freeburrito

The bad news (for Chipotle lovers): Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. has temporarily closed all 2,000 of its locations during lunchtime on Monday for a companywide food safety meeting.

The good news: Chipotle wants to make up for it with free burritos for all.

How to cash in? Simply text the word “RAINCHECK” to 888-222, and Chipotle will text you back with a coupon for a free burrito in the next few days.
Chipotle has had a rough go after several foodborne illness outbreaks last year. The company saw its first-ever quarterly sales decline as a public company and reported a 44% drop in profit from a year earlier.

Chipotle also said it was served with a subpoena on Jan. 28, widening the scope of a federal probe into an outbreak of foodborne disease disclosed in January. The new subpoena requires Chipotle to produce documents related to companywide food safety dating back to January 2013.

Chipotle restaurants closed Monday during lunch to teach employees about new food safety measures. All restaurants will reopen at 3 p.m. local time on Monday.
