Law enforcement throughout Contra Costa County will be cracking down on drunk drivers tonight. As part of the Avoid the 25, the anti-DUI task force will deploy officers countywide to arrest drunk drivers and keep the public aware of the dangers of driving while impaired.
Tonight’s DUI Checkpoint will be held on Clayton Rd & Ayers Blvd in Concord from 9:00-3:30pm. The checkpoint will be in front of the Vineyard Shopping Center & Kmart.

yea I have read it. If DUI checkpoints go against the constitution then why are the police allowed to do it? Are you suggesting that the police are violating the constitution? nation wide? really?

Yes they are, just like the NSA, Patriot Act and other forms of surveillance and non warrant searches.

My understanding of the DUI checkpoint law is that the supreme court ultimately ruled that the state’s desire to curb DUI outweighed what they called a “minor” loss of an individual’s rights.
